Animals Australia: AGM and Activists Forum coming up

An email from the indefatigble Glenys Oogjes, who leads Animals Australia out of a great fountain of wisdom and knowledge.

An invitation -

Many of you will be aware that the 2009 Animals Australia AGM and an associated 'Animal Activists' forum is now fast approaching. The AGM (for members only) will be held on Saturday the 24th of October, and the Animal Activists day follows on Sunday the 25th October – both in Melbourne.

This is your invitation to be part of the 'Animal Activists' day. We have been fortunate that Roy Taylor and Jo Unferdorben have offered to convene the forum and arrange the agenda. Roy and Jo are both great supporters who are active in Melbourne.

The venue for both days will be the Buzzard Theatre, Trinity College, Melbourne University, Parkville, Victoria (the same venue as the 2006 meeting). You will also be very welcome to join us for a vegan dinner at the nearby East Brunswick Club on the Saturday night ($30).

Animals Australia is arranging the venue and catering, and will levy a charge to cover those costs. The cost to attend on the Sunday Activists day will be $30 per person. An 'Attendance Form' will be provided soon to all member societies and those others who wish to attend the dinner and/or the Activist day. Attendees must book and pay in advance.

The weekend will provide an important opportunity to get together, hear reports on campaigns and activities, and it will provide valuable opportunities for collaborative projects.

If you would like to be involved – some easy steps -

1. Please plan your travel to Melbourne – and see some accommodation suggestions below.

2. Please let Roy ( roy_e_taylor@hotmail.com ) or Jo ( jounfy@gmail.com ) know of your interest in contributing to the Activist Day. Please cc Sarah@animalsaustralia.org to ensure you are on the list to receive the attendance forms.

3. Fill in an 'Attendance Form'* (when they are circulated in a couple of weeks) and return the form with your payment to Animals Australia.

Displays at the AGM – please also plan now to bring some of your key literature or merchandise to the AGM to put on display for others to see how you are approaching your campaigns.

Look forward to seeing many of you in Melbourne in October.

Regards,

Glenys Oogjes

This blog does not take Anonymous comments. Experience shows that comments cluttered with "Anonymous" are boring and people don't know whether "Anonymous" is one person or many. This is not a decision about freedom of speech. It is a decision about boring or unwillingness to be known by even a pseudonym.
