  1. Goodness you were busy.
I wore maroon jacket to the local Pub, which is always a bit confusing, as the local team (The Spuddies" - what else?) also wear Maroon, but they are all blues supporters, (of course).
Great match, great athleticism, Billy was terrific, Darren was extremely good in controlling flow, and timing his passes. Thaiday's work rate was phenominal, Inglis was terrific and after the insults (pre match) deserved to score first.
    Cheers

  2. Dear Denis, I have never - I think - seen a match quite like this. Melees thrown in for free. That was a turn up. I regard AFL as the last home of the melee and there it was in its full blown glory at Origin to-night. An outfall of Joey's racism stuff?!? All in all, natural justice!

However, I am a great admirer of Craig Bellamy with all he does for The Storm. I want to know what his role is in the NSW State of Origin preparation. Window dressing? This whole racism thing blew up over comments about Greg Inglis, a Storm player. As well, The Storm is full of all sorts of Qld connections which in turn is all full of indigenous connections. In addition, I believer our Mal is of Samoan origins so would earn the NSW racial vilificatgion.

So, if Craig Bellamy had any REAL influence, how did all this racial vilification stuff happen.

I think this is what lost NSW the game. They had to justify themselves outside and beyond football skills. They had to prove themselves, through football, morally. And that is a big ask - and one they should not feel obliged to meet.

I think one could do a theological thesis on what happened to-night. Fancy being able to do that with such a parochial game as State of Origin!

Anyway, that's what happened. That's how I believe it worked itself out. NRL - without News Limited corrupting the way it comes out -needs to get its house in order, ship shape and Bristol fashion.

It has been corrupted in more ways than one. It needs to set itself straight, transparently straight, and meet its obligations to Rugby League fans and supporters.

    Blessings and bliss
