Quakers, community, peace and environment

There are not many Quakers in Australia - possibly not more than a thousand nationally if you put them all in one room.  But they do get around.  My local meeting has a one page website.

We had to do this because the after Meeting for Worship notices were taking too long.  So our little Eastern Suburbs Local Meeting (twenty adults on a good day) was established to provide all this information.  So here it is.  As you can see from to-day's gleanings there is a wide range of interests:
  • Peace and Non-violence
  • Peacemaking theology
  • Cluster munitions
  • Landmine action
  • Women, peace and security
  • Parliament of the World's Religions
  • Asylum Seekers
  • Aboriginal issues
  • Earthcare
  • Toxic waste
racism-free

This blog does not take Anonymous comments. Experience shows that comments cluttered with "Anonymous" are boring and people don't know whether "Anonymous" is one person or many. This is not a decision about freedom of speech. It is a decision about boring or unwillingness to be known by even a pseudonym.
