Thursday 23 August, 6 pm for 6.30 pm: Professor Marilyn Lake in conversation. The speaker will be Professor Marilyn Lake, an historian from La Trobe University. Professor Lake has written extensively on the role and place of war, and its remembrance, within the Australian psyche. The format for the evening will be the usual: there will be an introductory conversation with our guest, then the meal, and that is followed with a time of more general conversation. It should be all over by 8.15 pm. The arrangement with Di Mattina's is that guests will be able to choose either a $15 or $20 meal. There are no other charges for the evening. Please spread the news.
