Resistance Bookshop Just out! The eruption of the brutal fundamentalist ‘Islamic State’ in the Middle East has placed the Kurdish people at the centre of the political stage.  The Rojava Revolution in northern Syria has attracted increasing interest and admiration around the world because of its unyielding resistance to the IS gangs, the heavy and unprecedented involvement of women in its defence forces and its attempt to build a people-centred society. Around 90,000 Hiroshima residents performed as extras in the film, helping recreate the horrific scenes of August 6, 1945. Because of the film's controversial nature, it was rarely screened at the time and was only recently rediscovered and brought back to life.
