Sorry to disappoin...Thank you for visiting, Peter.

Sorry to disappoint but this picture comes from a dedicated Wonthaggi local. There is no pretend.

I note you are in Canada so perhaps you might find it a bit difficult to keep up with the finer details of the desalination project. Don't know if you saw this post from yesterday - http://misseaglesnetwork.blogspot.com/2010/08/trouble-at-mill-it-seems-wonthaggi.html.

I could enter into correspondence on this but I would make two points in brief:
The desal plant involves Suez - one of the world's oldest corporations and certainly the oldest water corporation. Which comes first the chicken or the egg? The Vic Gov goes looking for a corporation or the corporation comes knocking on the door of the Vic Gov? My money is on the latter.

The Brumby Govt has been making many poor water decisions across a number of areas, not just in regard to the desal plant. A few could be set forth as examples.

Only certain people are listened to and the community is certainly excluded from making any meaningful contribution - and many of the locals had quite rational proposals to put forward but were ignored.

So no one campaigning against the desal plant and the supposed need for it has to invent anything or go in for false claims or doctor photos.

There are enough facts floating around. There is no whole of govt policy of professional, up to date community engagement in operation. As well, there is no whole of govt policy of social benchmarking across communities by which the impacts of major projects such as the desal plant can be assessed.

Govts must not let too much information or too much community input get in the way, you know. What is this? A democracy?

Blessings and bliss
BrigidBrigidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07862531789968068093noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1052331249465415794.post-36696483405907699702010-08-29T01:02:43.649+10:002010-08-29T01:02:43.649+10:00That pic of the dead penguin looks a lot like west...That pic of the dead penguin looks a lot like westernport bay to me, miles from the construction. Why do you people have to resort to false facts and photographs that have nothing what so ever to do with the desal plant?
You are only harming your own views by not being honest.Peter Wilkinsonhttp://wonthaggi.netnoreply@blogger.com
